Healthcare Counsel & Consultant
I provide external counsel and consulting services to healthcare systems with expertise in medical staff governance, credentialing, due process, and peer review. My work includes drafting and modernizing bylaws, developing credentialing workflows, and implementing robust peer review programs across enterprise health systems. Additionally, I provide recommendations for strengthening credentialing and peer review systems to help organizations mitigate future risk.
I provide education and training for medical staff leaders—including CMOs, medical staff committee members, department chairs, and division chiefs—on managing practitioner performance concerns using a progressive, remediation‑focused approach that advances issues through peer review when necessary. My training also strengthens peer review practices, including FPPE and OPPE, and enhances credentialing by helping leaders identify and address red flags during recruitment and throughout the credentialing process.

Backed by over three decades of experience in medical staff credentialing and peer review, I offer expert witness services in negligent credentialing and medical staff governance matters. I am experienced in preparing expert witness reports, case summaries, and other required documentation, and I provide thorough, case‑specific analysis of credentialing practices, bylaws, and peer review activities. My work includes evaluating organizational processes, identifying breakdowns in oversight, and offering clear, defensible opinions to support litigation needs. I also assess whether physician leaders and committee members fulfilled their governance responsibilities and whether the organization adhered to its bylaws, policies, and established procedures.
